A Limpopo man yesterday confessed to killing his wife for muti purposes and selling her blood and body parts to a local sangoma for R4500.

Police said the man made this horrific confession while leading police to the scene where he said he killed and buried his wife in January.

Jane Matsika, of Mentz village outside Polokwane, was killed when she was stabbed with a sharp instrument.

Matsika's 34-year- old husband, Johannes, told the police that he killed his wife and sucked her blood out of her body.

He said after sucking out the blood he poured it in a bucket and took some of her body parts to a local sangoma where he sold them.

Police said he then sent an SMS pretending to be his wife to his father-in-law. In the SMS "she" claimed "she" was kidnapped.

He also sent the police on a wild goose chase after he reported that his wife was missing.

But police said that after intensive police investigations, Johannes was arrested and charged with the kidnapping.

He was released on R1000 bail and warned to appear again.

However, he failed to appear in court and fled.

Inspector Petrus Mailula, a spokesman for the Mankweng police said a warrant for Johannes' arrest was issued after he had failed to appear in court.

Mailula said Johannes immediately made the confession after he was rearrested yesterday morning.

"He even led us to the scene where he had buried his wife," said Mailula.

Mailula said the police were also going to arrest the sangoma who allegedly bought the body parts and the blood from Johannes.
