This immaculate Beemer is still running strong.
Our used BMW 325i was simply immaculate. It was very hard to believe that this German had already clocked-up 114000km because it was in truly great shape. BMW quality and durability certainly shines through, though one must not forget that the previous owner took great care of the vehicle. On closer inspection, even the bodywork seemed to be virtually scratch-free. The car's overall condition was brilliant.
A full service history confirms that the vehicle is in good mechanical condition and this BMW 325i is also covered by BMW's Motorplan up to 140000km.
With turbine-like refinement and a broad torque curve, the 325i delivers a driving experience with little comparison for this kind of money. The 2,5litre powerplant with double Vanos is a model of smoothness and superb performance. It puts 141Kw of power and 245Nm of torque at the driver's disposal. The distinctive sound of the Beemer six complements figures that are pretty impressive by any standards. The 0-100kmh dash is despatched in just over eight seconds and the car's 230kmh top speed is not to be frowned at.
Another area in which the 325i impressed was fuel consumption. When the car is driven sensibly figures as low as 7,5litre for 100km are attainable.
I loved the positive, direct feel of the five-speed manual gearbox, which was easy to operate.
The high standards of comfort and quality are particularly convincing. The high-grade materials and excellent finishes of the interior immediately convey this impression and are also the main reason for the vehicle still being in such immaculate condition. The cabin is quiet, even at breakneck speeds and, as with most Beemers, the ride comfort is top-class.
To aid the driver in slippery conditions this BMW is equipped with BMW's DSC stability control system and an ABS-braking system. Even the vehicle's 205-55R16 Bridgestone rubber proved to be good for at least another 25000km.
It was no surprise that our used BMW 325i was packed with luxury features. These included grey leather upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, electric windows, climate control air-conditioning, six airbags, cruise control, a trip computer and a radio-tape player. Optional fitted equipment included parking-distance control, electrically adjustable seats, a CD-shuttle and an electric sunroof.
This BMW 325i certainly offers good value for money, especially when the vehicle's immaculate condition and extra features are taken into account.
This is high quality that excels with its all-round competence and excellent performance - and don't forget that velvet-smooth drive train.
