It was with disbelief that I learnt of Kabelo Thibedi's five year jail sentence for holding Anel Small hostage over his ID. Why did the magistrate jail someone who was trying to get what belongs to him?

We must understand the frustration he suffered all those years trying to get an ID.

If Home Affairs was able to have his ID delivered on the day of the hostage drama, why could it not do so before? Foreigners are getting IDs within two weeks because they bribe. What about people who don't have money for bribery?

I watched with disbelief the Special Assignment expose on how corrupt the department's officials are. The minister must sort out the corruption in the department.
