Wonderboy does it again
South Africa's wonderboy has done it again, scoring vital points for Team RSA in yesterday's A1GP street race in Beijing, China.
Adrian Zaugg started in the last position (22nd) after crashing Vulindlela earlier in the sprint race. But with flawless driving in the main feature race, he managed to steer the car into fifth place.
It might not be a podium finish, but this daring drive is a winner.
In a race of attrition, which saw countless teams crash into the barrier, Zaugg proved he is a force to be reckoned with and that he is a star in the making.
Canada, who were poised for a podium finish, crashed out on the last lap of a race where the safety car was kept busy as teams managed to come into contact with the side wall of a tight circuit.
Through all of this turmoil Zaugg kept his cool and stayed out of trouble. The last and the best piece of driving came as he went into a duel with Thomas Enge from the Czech Republic in the penultimate lap, snatching fifth place.
Italy crossed first, the UK was second and Australia third, followed by France. But the team from Down Under in under investigation, meaning that in the final rankings, Vulindlela could be placed fourth.
