Buhle Mthethwa was elected the first woman president of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc) on Friday, SABC radio news reported.

Mthethwa said after her election that she would strive to create 100000 new and sustainable small and medium businesses over the next five years.

Mthethwa said she acknowledged that Nafcoc was challenged by a lack of unity.
