Free State Stars' chairman Mike Mokoena is furious that they still have to receive the R1 million first prize of the inaugural Baymed Cup.

"What is happening is not fair, we do not have a sponsorship and need the money to run the affairs of the club," said Mokoena yesterday.

"The league surprisingly keep on changing the prize-giving ceremony. It has been some time since we won the tournament.

"I promised the players an incentive of R300 000 for winning the tournament. They are now looking at me as if I was fooling them. What makes it worse is that there are allegations that the league still has to receive the money from the sponsors."

Andrew Dipela, PSL general manager, said: "He [Mokoena] must come to the league, unless if Sowetan is the league or the bank. We've been busy with the preparations for the BGM [biennial annual general meeting] , which is taking place in Johannesburg on Saturday. We'll pay him."
