A 50-year-old Limpopo man allegedly hanged himself after he had a fight with his wife.

Samuel Letsoalo, of Nobody village, outside Polokwane, allegedly had a heated argument with his wife in the early hours of yesterday, though it could not be established what it was about.

Mankweng police spokesman Inspector Malan Nchabeleng said that after the argument the man allegedly beat his wife, who was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

"The man was later found by a passerby in the bushes with a rope around his neck," Nchabeleng said.

The wife is still recovering in hospital.

l In another incident at Ga-Mamabolo, 26-year-old Elias Tjale was found hanged with a rope tied to a tree.

Nchabeleng said police are investigating Tjale's death. There have been no arrests.
