The teams that finished in the top eight bracket on the Limpopo Softball Association's LimDev Super League log in the first round will play in the Limpopo Funeral Parlour tournament on November 25.

The tournament is sponsored for R45000 and marks the 30th anniversary of the undertakers. It will be staged at Seshego diamonds.

Polelo Masola, a member of the tournaments committee of the provincial body, said the launch and the draw of the competition will be held at the Waterland recreational facility in Polokwane tonight at 6.

"This is a once-off tourney and is not a replacement for our yearly Kitso Technologies Top 8 tournament, which will be held in December," Masola said.

"Our clubs feel honoured for being part of the undertakers' anniversary. We anticipate fireworks on November 25 and we urge people to come in large numbers to make the event a memorable one."

Matsawa Tema, a director at the company, said the tournament was part of their continuous investment in the ball game.

"Softball is one of the biggest sports in the province and it enjoys good support, and we could not have asked for a better sport to invest in," said Tema, who rarely misses softball matches.

"Two years ago we assisted [Seleteng] Giant Killers with playing kit, bags and catering during their matches and I did the same with Seshego Cannons last year.

"I will consider other teams in future."

The teams that have qualified for the one-day showpiece on November 25 are Mahwelereng Spikes, Killers, Moletlane Texas, Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts, Mamaolo Rebels, Red Scorpions, Mashite Eagles and University of Limpopo.
