Murder craze on Saturday

Police in Mpumalanga are searching for the killers of three people who were murdered in the Lowveld on Saturday night.

A 29-year-old man was beaten to death at Polar Trust near Hazyview.

On the same night David Madalane, of Masoyi, was having a drink at a tavern when two men accused him of having looted a house.

They assaulted him and left him lying on the floor. He was taken to a clinic, where he was declared dead.

Police spokesman Captain Amos Mashele said no arrests had been made.

In another incident, 20-year-old Sifiso Selekane, of KaNyamazane, was shot in the head and died.

He was going to a shop on Saturday night when he was shot in the head by an unknown person near Yedwa store. Police have opened a murder docket.

Lucas Sehlale, 40, was allegedly killed during a fight with a security guard in Burgersfort on Saturday.

The security guard has been arrested and will appear in court on a murder charge.
