Members of the Proteas squad will be back to reinforce their respective franchises in the semifinals of the MTN Domestic Championship billed for Friday and Sunday.

Ten players from the South African national cricket squad that played at the ICC Champions Trophy in India recently will be eligible for selection for their teams.

Defending champions Gestetner Diamond Eagles face Fidentia Warriors at Goodyear Park in Bloemfontein in the first semifinal on Friday. In the second game on Sunday, Nashua Cape Cobras take on Nashua Dolphins at Newlands in Cape Town.

Proteas captain Graeme Smith, vice-captain Jacques Kallis and opening batsman Herschelle Gibbs will be available for selection for the Cobras.

Batsmen Loots Bosman and Boeta Dippenaar return to the Eagles. Fast bowler Makhaya Ntini, wicketkeeper Mark Boucher and left arm orthodox spinner Robin Peterson are back at the Warriors and medium-pace bowlers Shaun Pollock and Andrew Hall will be swimming with the Dolphins.

But the players will not be eligible to play for their sides in the finals, scheduled for November 17 at a venue still to be confirmed.
