Two British men travelling to South Africa to publicise the film The Road to Guantanamo missed their flight from the UK this week because of being questioned by airport security officials for almost two hours.

Organisers of Cape Town's Sithengi Film and TV Market said Ruahl Ahmed managed to catch a later flight and arrived in the country yesterday, but Shafiq Rasul refused to travel, fearing further "intimidation".

Ahmed and Rasul, along with Asif Iqbal, appear in Road to Guantanamo, a docudrama that recreates their lives as prisoners of the US in Cuba.

Detained for three years in Afghanistan in 2001 as suspected terrorists, they were released in 2004 without being charged. - Sapa
