Men get bail in witch-killing trial

Five people who allegedly

murdered a 60-year-old woman after accusing her of being a witch were each granted R 1000 bail in the MountAyliff magistrates' court yesterday.

Mathunzela Jakuja, Zandile Jakuja, Fundile Ndzimande, Busiso Mphambane and Linda Ciniji allegedly attacked Nomanelwa Ngwane after finding her naked at Jakuja's home in Cabazana, Mount Ayliff, last week.

They allegedly stoned her and tried to burn her.

Ngwane died of her injuries while she was being taken to Mount Ayliff Hospital.

The magistrate postponed the case to November 29 for further investigation. - Sowetan Reporter
