Another schoolboy has been stabbed, allegedly by a fellow pupil.
The knifing happened at the Mabotha High School, in GaKibi village, near Dendron in Limpopo, on Tuesday.
A spokesman for the Education Department said the boys were not fighting, but "just playing".
"The culprit will be charged with misconduct. Our policy is clear: no weapons on school premises."
The injured boy is recovering in hospital.
