Safa ref in court for corruption

A top South African Football Association (Safa) referee and his assistants will appear in a Limpopo court today on charges of corruption.

The accused will appear in the Mahwelereng magistrates' court charged with having accepted a R500 bribe from Mokopane Football Club officials on Wednesday night.

The incident, which also resulted in a club official being arrested, allegedly took place shortly after Mokopane's 4-0 win over Greater Tubatse United at Mahwelereng Stadium.
