Police and tavern owners in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, have joined forces to clamp down on drinkers who commit crime while under the influence of alcohol.

Police and tavern owners in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, have joined forces to clamp down on drinkers who commit crime while under the influence of alcohol.

The campaign calls for a 9pm curfew at taverns and encourages locals to take drunks home to avoid arguments that lead to deaths and other crimes.

Police vehicles and private trucks will patrol the area and transport drunks to their homes. - Sowetan Reporter
