Medi-Clinic Group is the new owner of the previously black- owned Legae Private Clinic in Mabopane, outside Tshwane.

The clinic will be renamed Legae Medi-Clinic after this week's takeover.

Cashile Khuzwayo, a founder member of Legae Private Clinic and now member of the board of directors of Legae Medi-Clinic, said the total takeover of the facility by the private healthcare group was a milestone.

"We have welcomed the takeover with open arms because it will open a range of opportunities for investors, the staff and the community.

"It will also ensure the continuance of quality healthcare services to the community we have committed ourselves to service.

"We view the 100percent take- over by Medi-Clinic as an opportunity to grow our business," he said.

With a 25percent market share, Medi-Clinic is one of the largest groups in the private healthcare sector in South Africa.
