Thobela FM sports presenter and commentator Simon Ramafalo yesterday donated the R5 000 he received as an award to children living with HIV-Aids.

The DJ was chosen as a recipient of the yearly Anglo Platinum Limpopo Achievers' awards in Polokwane on October 21.

He donated his prize to the Itsoseng Community Project in Bolobedu, Limpopo.

The project, which is based in the sprawling village of Ga-Mokwakwaila, also cares for orphaned and mentally ill children.

Ramafalo said yesterday: "This is the little that I can share with my community. I'm very touched by the high rate of people dying of Aids-related diseases.

"We need to join forces to fight this pandemic. I urge other media personalities to continue working in HIV-Aids awareness campaigns."
