Union names U-19 squad

The Free State Cricket Union has announced the under-19 girls' cricket team for the national under-19 tournament in Kimberley from December 7 to 11.

The squad of 13 was finalised at Goodyear Park in Bloemfontein at the weekend.

The coach, Anton van Nieuwenhuizen, said the team's first training camp will be held on November 24 in Bloemfontein.

He said the next training and fitness camps will be in Kimberley from from December 4 to 6.

"We hope to get a friendly game at the end of the month at home in order to assess the girls, " Van Nieuwenhuizen said.

Zola Thanae is the manager of the team. Gizelle Janse van Rensberg was appointed captain and her assistant is Refilwe Makathu from Tsoseletso High School.

Full squad:

Van Rensburg, Simone van Zyl, Makathu, Refilwe Mile, Christina Mokoena, Mariska Mclean, Laetitia Budenhorst, Danielle de Kock, Thulang Tsotetsi, Vida Simmons, Simone Felix, Leandi van Vuuren and Joanne Rossouw.
