Giving pregnant pupils time off stupid, immoral

I refer to the government's proposal to give pregnant pupils a four-month break from their studies.

By encouraging promiscuity among our children our government is failing us.

The government should be coming up with ways to eliminate immorality in our country - not promote it.

The government first persuaded our teenagers to have abortions without the consent of their parents and now it wants to grant our children maternity leave for four months and have teachers come and give them lessons.

At whose expense?

Right now HIV-Aids is rife but the government thinks it is fine for children to have babies, disregarding the risks of them being infected with this disease.

If teenage pregnancy is a reality, how about introducing strict morality laws?

Perhaps the people who represent us in parliament are not really affected by these type of decisions. Clearly they are far away from the real problems that face us.

If they want to canvass for our votes they must do it in a way that will restore the dignity of our people.

School is a place for children - not young parents.

Our government ministers should think more clearly before making suggestions that will end in our morality going down the drain.
