Zwo Nevhutalo, Limpopo's boss of the Independent Electoral Commission, has been appointed head of the province's education department.

Nevhutalo replaces Professor Harry Nengwekhulu, who has been seconded to head the Eastern Cape education department.

Nevhutalo, who is in the Democratic Republic of Congo monitoring the presidential elections there, takes up the new post today.

He has served as chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission in Limpopo since 1998.

He holds a diploma in theology, a bachelor's degree in theology, an honours degree in theology and certificates in project management, effective director management and public finance management.
