Chauke finally buried

A Limpopo man was finally buried at the weekend, four weeks after he had died of an unidentified disease.

Thomas Chauke, 35, from the rural area of Nwamatatani outside Makhado, died a month ago after a long illness.

Because of a lack of funds, his body was kept at the mortuary for four weeks.

A local headman, Thomas Kubayi, launched an initiative to have the community bury Chauke.

"I'm happy for Chauke to have finally been buried in dignity. I'm also grateful to the people who helped," said Kubayi. - Elijar Mushiana
