Two Limpopo women accused of killing an elderly woman and her grandson by setting them alight last month have been granted bail of R1 000 each.

Sarah Ramashia, 49, and Musandiwa Ramashia, 78, appeared in the Thohoyandou magistrates' court on Friday in connection with the death of Sundani Munyai, 70, and her grandson Thatheni, 12, who were burnt beyond recognition at HaMakuya village.

The two victims had to be buried in one coffin because it proved impossible to differentiate their body parts.

Thatheni was a grade 6 pupil at Kariel Ngingideni Primary School. - Chester Makana
