City Pillars are expected to register Congolese defender Felix Musasa today ahead of their tough Mvela Golden League clash against title-chasers Free State Stars at NkowaNkowa Stadium on Sunday.

Pillars received the work permit of Musasa on Wednesday.

The former Orlando Pirates player has been training with Mathaithai for the past two months.

An excited Oubaas Sabela, Pillars' spokesman, said they were happy that Musasa will finally be registered with the team.

"The player is fit and ready to face Stars on Sunday. Our stand-in coach Mike Muendane is doing everything possible to prepare the team for the tough match against Stars," Sabela said yesterday.

Muendane, who was roped in on Tuesday to replace Ali Akan, rightfully admitted yesterday that it will not be easy to upset Ea lla Koto.

He added: "We have to redouble our efforts to beat Stars. I'm worried, though, about our goalkeeper Johannes Diale who lacks confidence."

Diale, the former Black Leopards and Silver Stars goalkeeper, apparently disappointed Muendane in their 3-3 draw against the newly assembled Western Province United in Cape Town on Wednesday.

United, who have roped in Shane McGregor as their head coach, were leading 3-0 at interval, but Pillars leveled the score in the second half after the Capetonians were reduced to nine men.

Duncan "King" Lechesa, Stars' skipper, yesterday described Pillars as "dangerous".

"We will give them the respect they deserve. We don't undermine our opponents and we will not be complacent in NkowaNkowa," said Lechesa, who is familiar with Limpopo after his stint at Leopards.

Jackie Ledwaba and Myron Shongwe carry the hopes of Pillars against Stars, who also have quality players like Simphiwe Tshabalala and Jimmy Zakazaka.

Log leaders FC AK travel to Cape Town to engage Fidentia Rangers at Bellville Stadium, also on Sunday.
