Mogorosi was a popular man in his home town of Kagiso, where he was affectionately called Malume, or Heavyweight.
Born on December 14 1948 in Munsieville, Mogorosi attended St Mary's Catholic School in the area.
He later went to Sekitla High in Hammanskral before enrolling at Vista University, where he obtained a BA degree.
Keen to improve his qualifications, he enrolled at Pretoria University, but had to abandon his studies because of ill health.
His first teaching job was at Mosupatsela and in 1988 he was promoted to principal at the newly established SG Mafaesa Secondary School in Kagiso.
For the next nine years he worked hard to make it one of the best schools in the area.
In 1997 he left the profession to start farming in the Magaliesburg district.
Mogorosi was a sports fanatic and occasionally played tennis.
But the best memories his friends and colleagues will have of him is his passionate support of Kagiso Bush FC.
A dedicated Catholic, Mogorosi was held in high esteem by his community and fellow congregants.
As a lay preacher, he not only preached the gospel but also led by example, helping the less fortunate.
He was particularly hands-on with the youth, helping them reach their potential in what they chose to do.
Mogorosi was a loving family man and his wife and daughter were the apples of his eye.
He will be buried tomorrow. The service, at St James Catholic Church, in Magaliesburg, starts at 8am.
