E Cape holds 2010 indaba

The role of the Eastern Cape in the World Cup in 2010 will be discussed at a two-day session starting in Mthatha today.

The event will kick off with a gala dinner hosted by the Nelson Mandela Museum.

Spokesman Nokwanda Qezu said Fifa boss Sepp Blatter would not be attending because he was in hospital.

The event's guest list includes Eastern Cape premier Nosimo Balindlela, 2010 committee chief executive Danny Jordaan, sport and culture MEC Noxolo Abraham- Ntantiso, King Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo and mayors from various towns in the Eastern Cape.

Tomorrow Jordaan will hold talks with senior provincial government officials.
