A 24-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death appeared briefly in the Barberton magistrates' court yesterday on a charge of murder.
Zandile Magagula, of Phumula location near Barberton, Mpumalanga, had a one- year-old baby with Mandla Nkosi, 30.
Captain Elize Sithole, a police spokesman, said that Nkosi had left Magagula, his long-standing partner, for another woman.
At the weekend Nkosi allegedly brought his new girlfriend to the house he had shared with Magagula and told her that his new girlfriend was going to spend the night with them.
He reportedly told Magagula that she was welcome to join them in bed.
Magagula then allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Nkosi. He died at the scene.
Magagula was not asked to plead. She will appear in court again on Monday for a bail application. - Alfred Moselakgomo
