Emergency services spokesman Malcolm Midgley said the blaze was extinguished before 7.15am.
"We are now busy with the ventilation of the building. The investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire."
Midgley said the roof of the building was badly damaged. No one was inside when the fire broke out. - Sapa
