An ex can be sued for sharing naked videos

My ex-boyfriend and I had a kinky sex life and used to take naked images of each other and we also made a sex video.

We broke up a year ago but recently, after he found out that I am seeing someone, he keeps sending me my naked pictures and clips of the video, claiming he misses me. He does not say it but I see this as a veiled threat to try and blackmail me. How do I report him to the police if I took the video and pictures willingly? Help.

MOM replies:

There are laws regulating "revenge porn". You can sue someone for distributing your sexually explicit images or videos via any medium without your consent. Don't let him slander you. Talk to your lawyer now. You agreed to make the videos but never agreed to distribute them.

BOITUMELO replies:

Although you willingly participated in the act, it does not mean you automatically agreed for the picture and videos to be distributed without your consent.

It seems it's going in the direction of threatening to damage your reputation, even interfering in your current relationship, as he started doing so when he found out you are in another relationship. This is worrying.

Consult the police or a legal expert on the best way to deal with this situation before it gets out of control.
