Reasons why you should sleep naked

Studies and surveys suggests that sleeping naked could actually be good for you and your partner.

1. A 2014 survey of Brits by Cotton USA found that 57 percent of those who slept nude reported being happy in their relationship.

2. Dr. Jennifer Landa from cosmopolitan warns that wearing pyjamas or sleeping in a warm environment could cause too much yeast or bacteria to grow in the vaginal area and sleeping naked gives a better chance of air ventilation to the region, preventing infections.

3. Neurologist Rachel Salas with the Johns Hopkins Center for Sleep in 2013 said sleeping naked was, in part, a means of protection from predators in the old days, and that feeling of safety could be imparted by sleeping similarly in modern day.

4. When skin-on-skin contact occurs, our adrenal glands get a message and lighten up on the production of the stress hormone cortisol. The cortisol suppresses the immune response and Skin-to-skin contact also increases levels of oxytocin, which can have positive effects on blood pressure and healing.

5. The 6th point is based on a 2004 study that claims that the body temperature does affect sleep. To sleep normally a core temperature matters to initiate sleep. So you need the normal human body temperature to sleep properly than when you have your clothes home which can add a little bit of temperature to your body heat and blankets.
