San Francisco-based start-up Crave has created a gold-plated vibrator that, when worn as a pendant, could be mistaken for an elegant piece of jewelry.
The Vesper, as it is called, is available in three colors: silver, rose gold, and 24-karat gold plated. Already in production and set to ship in September, it aims to achieve the right balance of form and functionality.
Crave co-founder Ti Chang originally created her own Incoqnito line of sex toy jewelry before partnering with entrepreneur and product designer Michael Topolovac to form Crave, where she is now head of the design team.
"In the spirit of continuing to elevate and re-imagine what a sex toy could be - I was inspired by the idea of bringing together function and fashion," says Chang. "It was important that this product is both elegant and functional."
Ironically, the vibrator, whose presence on wearers is likely to create a lot of buzz if it comes into style, is said to be whisper quiet when turned on.
The item is available for pre-order at a reduced price of $49 and free personalized engraving is available.
Crave's last product, the Duet, doubles as a flash drive and is said to be the first crowdfunded vibrator.
