Zama Ngcobo's Top Billing dream

STEP FORWARD: The 10 Top Billing possibles.
STEP FORWARD: The 10 Top Billing possibles.

WHO will be Top Billing's next presenter? The race is on and 10 finalists have been announced after four weeks of intense national auditions in Bloemfontein, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

One of the contenders is set to enjoy the fabulous life of presenters like Jeannie D and Janez Vermeiren, who have travelled the world courtesy of the 20-year-old show.

Top Billing fans will have an opportunity to watch the auditions over the next seven weeks in the My Top Billing Dream show.

The ultimate winner will receive prizes from sponsors including Nedbank, Mercedes- Benz, Virgin Active, Woolworths and Metal CH.

The finalists include off-beat beauty Khanya Ngumbela, Lauren Wallet, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Kerusha Kisten, Capetonian Lynelle Kennedy, Zama Mtshali, Chamendran Naidoo, Greg Kriek, Lauren Blackwell and former SABC1 continuity presenter Zama Ngcobo.

All eyes will be on Ngcobo, who is no stranger to TV.

The socialite, who is a standard feature of high-profile party guest lists, was a continuity presenter of SABC1 in 2007.

Since then she has worked as radio DJ for Ukhozi FM and most recently appeared in our biggest soapie, Generations, as Tabitha Morris.

A confident Ngcobo says presenting comes naturally to her and she'd love to develop her career in this medium.

"Top Billing is the epitome of what one aspires to in this business. It's in a league of its own and I'm keen to learn the art of presenting."

My Top Billing Dream airs every Tuesday on SABC3 at 8pm.
