Check out this Soweto-born Mr SA contestant

Two of the requirements for Mr SA 2011 are good looks and a good body: Cecil Mleshane seems to have it all

The former Mr South Africa semi-finalist 2010 has brought his experience into this year's competition and will be looking to go a step further this time to walk away with the coveted prize.

Setting up a tone for a chat you could tell that he has done this before. “Participating in this competition has changed my life forever. I have established an intrinsic motivation to pursue this dream further. I have prepared myself for the contest emotional, physically, spiritually and mentally,” said Soweto-born Mleshane.

With confidence pasted all over his well-nourished face, he explains how he put his mind and soul into his studies. He completed a PR Management Course at Unisa.

His good looks and a chiselled  body has put food on the table. Amongst his personal achievements include being former Face of HMO store, Model of the year for SA fashion week 2010. He is currently the Face of Bogart for Man at Maponya and Rosebank Malls.

“I have been preparing myself by reading a lot of spiritual material about humility, internal beauty and self-discipline, this has made me realise what true greatness is,” says the soft-spoken Mleshane who wants to be appreciated for “who I am and for what I contribute into society”.

“I believe Mr SA brand has the potential of being nurtured back to its greatness and made accessible to all sectors of society.” The likes of Paul Phume and Sam Pororo have always been inspirational to him.

All contestants have been assigned a project to raise funds for Chrysalis Foundation, established to provide counselling and support to girls between the ages of 14 and 18 who have been victims of physical or emotional abuse. So far he managed to raise over R8,000.

  • The winner of this contest will be announced at a glittering grand finale at the Silverstars Casino in Krugersdorp on February 19.
