Ntshebe belts out funny tunes

PHILANI Mabanga, who is famously known as Ntshebe, is in a league of his own.

The gospel comedian master has an amazing talent for turning his sermons into humorous presentations that have the congregation bursting into laughter.

It is his own special gift from God that enables Ntshebe to turn real issues of life into laughable situations.

He does it without subverting the good news or watering down the pertinence of his message.

"Although many people think that I make a derision of religious issues, I am a spiritual person. I follow a religion that respects people and their cultures. My music has a strong message that is directed even to those who think they are holier than thou."

Ntshebe recently released Inkonzo Kantshebe Vol 6, a hilarious album that is balanced with spirituality, social issues, politics, love and gospel songs. The project goes across the board, offering music styles such maskandi, Afro-pop, kwaito and gospel songs.

Ntshebe has managed to put together a well-balanced album and everything he employed in it has just melted in so well.

Though this project offers more jokes than anything else, Ntshebe says there is a strong message in his songs.

Ntshebe is a man of many talents and has proved that over the years. His career kicked off in 1992 as a R&B singer of note.

He says he was also a funny person at school and at home. It was only in 2003 that he decided to record his gospel comedy.
