Come and enjoy some very good writing

LITERARY journalism personalities Bongani Madondo and Sophie Tema will lead discussions during the Miriam Tlali Reading and Book Club's latest reading and literary appreciation session in Johannesburg tomorrow afternoon.

Coincidentally, Madondo is the inaugural winner of the Sowetan-sponsored South African Literary Awards' Literary Journalism Award.

It is titled, Young Writers' Era: Exuberance of Youth in Today's Writing. The session, taking place at the African Literature Bookshop in 191 Louis Botha Avenue (Corner 8th Street) in Orange Grove, seeks to implement the club's ideals. This includes nourishing the minds of South African citizens and celebrating our rich and diversified literary culture and heritage.

Kiddies should bring along their parents, elders, siblings and other guardians to their own session, which starts at 2pm.

The Miriam Tlali Reading and Book Club is a legacy programme of the South African Literary Awards, which are now in their fifth edition. It was founded and is managed by the wRite associates in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture, National Arts Council, Nutrend Publishers and Sowetan and the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation.
