Pearl Modiadie hates being the one being interviewed but rather prefers to be the one asking all the questions.
Popularly known for hosting Zaziwa, a show on SABC1 where she interviews celebrities. Sexy Modiadie prefers being on the other side of interviews because she finds being interviewed a very uncomfortable process.
“I hate being interviewed. It’s just uncomfortable when you are on the other side. You feel so vulnerable. It feels like whatever comes, you have to take. I like being in control.”
Today Modiadie is vote for as Mzansi’s Sexiest Woman 2015, however during her teenage years, she did not see herself as sexy.
“I remember when I was younger I was not confident with my body and the way it looked, I was a little bigger. So I decided to hit the gym and work out.”
The TV presenter, was nominated last year but did not make it this far. Now that she is the winner she describes it as weird.
“This is my second time and the only time I made it to the top. It's really weird. I never thought I was sexy. I used to laugh it off but now I embrace it.”
She thinks a person is sexy when they love who they are and show it off with confidence.
“Sexy to me is exuded by someone who is very confident and not ashamed to show off their flaws. Someone who celebrates their body whether big or small.”
“Sexy is also success. When I think about Kojo Baffoe, I think he knows himself and that's what makes him charming and sexy. Yvonne Chaka Chaka is wholesome. She is everything and that's amazingly sexy.”
Besides being a presenter, Modiadie is an actress and can be seen on Generations now and then.
Having been in the industry for a while, she has feels lucky to not know the struggle of trying to build a career.
“I don't have any struggles in the industry, for me it’s really work. Disappointment is a huge thing we all come across, but it's not a train smash for me.”
When not at work she is at home spending time with family.
“I don’t attend socials unless it is work related. I prefer being at home and chilling with family and close friends.
When asked why she does not hang out with friends in the industry, Modiadie replied: “I don’t have friends in the industry, I have associates. You can’t befriend someone who wants the same thing you want, you don’t want to compete with your friend.”
