Halle Berry and Taraji P Henson to headline the inaugural Women in Media conference

Hollywood leading ladies Taraj P Henson and Halle Berry are coming to South Africa next month.

The ladies will headline the inaugural International Women in Media conference taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on the 5th and 6th of September.

They will be joined by other key speakers such American singer Ashanti, Bonang Matheba, Amanda du Pont, Connie Ferguson, Claire Mawisa, Salamina Mosese and Thabile Ngwato.

"What an honour to be selected to speak at this auspicious event. I look forward to sharing my story and building a sisterhood with likeminded women across the country and beyond," Ferguson expressed her excitement.

Some of the topics to be addressed at the conference include: the business of production, the art of acting/presenting and how to make it in Hollywood.

Ashanti will perform at the invite-only gala on 6 September.

All proceeds raised at the gala dinner will be for the Thembekile Mandela Foundation and MaSisulu Centenary Team. 

Tickets for the conference that is open to the public on 5 September are available online and cost R1250.

Empire actress Taraji P Henson on Wednesday took to social media to deny that she is one of the headline speakers at the inaugural International Women in Media Conference next month in Sandton, Johannesburg.
