Khanya Mkangisa proves that patience is a virtue with her new radio show on YFM.

The 29-year-old Mkangisa hosted her first show Stoep 99 at the weekend which she says has been a long time coming.

"I have always wanted to be on radio, especially YFM because I grew up at a time when it was very hot. I have always associated myself with it.

"I could not be at YFM earlier because of my work schedule. I went to varsity, obtained my degree and went to work as soon as I graduated.

"Joining the YFM team now feels so amazing, I feel like everything is happening at the right time," she said.

The former television child star said she had to undergo a four-day audition live on YFM before getting the job.

"I was asked to record a demo for the position.

"I did a clip for an entertainment slot on someone's show and I believe they really liked it so much they asked me to come through for a live audition," said the bubbly Mkangisa.

The petite actress, model and television presenter, seems to be pressing all the right buttons in her career at the moment.

She is one of the cast members of Harvest, e.tv'snew drama series alongside top actresses Masasa Mbangeni and Vatiswa Ndara.

Mkangisa is celebrating two years on SABC1's magazine show Selimathunzi.

She is also one of the popular faces of clothing line Khosi Nkosi.

Mkangisa made her way into people's hearts when she starred as one of the "cutie pies" on YoTV years back.
