It's two strokes of good fortune for Lorna Maseko.

Not only did the charming Top Billing presenter premiere her food show The Hostess on SABC3 last night, but she has just flung open the doors of her new restaurant in Sandton.

Maseko, who grew up in Alexandra, said the TV show had been in the works for two years. "It encapsulates everything I do normally and shows my personality in a different way. It's more tongue in cheek, with a bit of fun. The Lorna people know, who likes to clown around and have a good time."

After years running Fabulous Productions, her events company, Maseko said she was ready to step out as a restaurateur. She has bought the Bread Basket franchise in Morningside which she said had potential. "It's a deli slash bistro ."
