Former Kaizer Chiefs star Jabu "Shuffle" Mahlangu has scored himself a cameo role in TV show The Queen.

Mahlangu, a SuperSport channel soccer analyst and motivational speaker, shot three scenes on Saturday.

He plays himself as a retired soccer star.

He is introduced as a friend of Goodness, played by Zenande Mfenyana.

Mahlangu was thankful for his acting forays: "I feel honoured to be part of the cast of seasoned and talented actors. I'm grateful to Connie and Shona Ferguson for this opportunity.

"In the show, Goodness invites me to motivate a young boy named Khaya."

Mahlangu, who is familiar with the cameras since he acted in the sitcom Samsokolo in 2013, said The Queen casting director held his hand while shooting the three scenes last week.

He confessed to being star struck at some point because of the actors he was working alongside.

"They welcomed me with open hands and were very supportive. I could not believe that I was sitting with the people that we see every day on our screens."

Mahlangu said acting was in him. He said he was a living example of someone exploring his talents.

"I believe that everyone is born multitalented. I might have been a soccer star, but I believe that I was born with an acting talent. I don't have to work hard."

He appears on our screens on May 17.
