MTN on Friday confirmed that it is the main sponsor for Cassper Nyovest’s #FillUpOrlandoStadium‚ but has refused to say exactly how much it is contributing towards the show.

In a statement the cellular giant said it was “pleased to be the headline sponsor of the historic event“ that is set to take place on October 29 at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, South of Johannesburg.

Since the announcement was made there has been much speculation about just how much Cassper would be raking in.

He was appointed as an ambassador for the company last year which often saw the hip-hop star boasting about the so-called “big money deal” calling it the “biggest endorsement deal in the South African music history“. The deal was said to be worth R10million.

Speaking of his #FillUpTheDome concert‚ Cassper said that it cost millions‚ R3.2million of which he claims he paid for out of his own pocket.

Earlier this year he said that #FillUpOrlandoStadium would cost R25million and appealed to sponsors to come forward but has now said he needs R15million for the show.

"Initially we thought we needed R25million but it is R15million for the whole show," said Cassper who is grateful for MTN sponsorship.

"I really appreciate it, it's not everyday that a corporate company come in and push an idea like this. It means a lot to me."

But MTN is tight-lipped on the amount‚ saying that “numbers are never mentioned“.

“Money has been given to Cassper for his Orlando show. We never disclose the amount. This is a separate deal to his endorsement with the company‚” said MTN’s Bridget Bhengu.
