“No arrest has been made yet. We are looking for about three men who he says he saw‚ we are not sure how many others were there‚” Makhubele said.

Masha’s agent‚ Oscar Tshifure‚ said the actor was on his way from Soshanguve‚ his hometown‚ to visit friends and family in the area when he was accosted by hijackers at around 10pm on Sunday.

Tshifuri said Masha was “thrown into the boot of the car…driven around for hours while the hijackers were locating the tracking device…while he lay in the boot”.

He was finally released at approximately 2.45 on Monday morning‚ “unhurt but emotionally traumatised”‚ Tshifuri said.
