AKA comes out in support of Mabala Noise

AKA has come out in strong support of Mabala Noise Entertainment (MNE) in the wake of all the drama that has been surrounding the newly established stable.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday‚ the rapper appeared to be expressing his disappointment at the slew of questions and speculations that has been trailing behind MNE ever since it announced that it would be taking a number of big names under its wing.

“You would think people would be happy about Mabala signing artists‚ revitalising careers‚ partnerships. But no‚ because‚ South Africa‚” he wrote before suggesting that MNE has the ability to help artists “shine” and “advance their careers.”

“People say they want our artists to shine‚ to advance their careers. Then when it starts happening. They don’t like it. It’s quite strange.”’

MNE made big entertainment industry news when it signed the likes of Riky Rick‚ Gigi Laymayne and Nasty C to the label earlier this year. Mabala also brought Chris Brown into the country to perform at its marquee at The Durban July last month.

However‚ more recently‚ Julius Malema took aim at MNE during a live press conference at the IEC results centre. He accused ANC Youth League treasurer general and owner of MNE Reggie Nkabinde of paying artists in the newly established stable “not less than R5 million” to sign to the group and perform at ANC political events.

The EFF leader further added that Mabala is funded through dodgy government tenders‚ however the Mabala Noise big wig rubbished the claims.
