Scoop Makhathini clears the air on drug and hatred rumours

TV personality Siyabonga Ngwekazi‚ popularly known as Scoop Makhathini‚ has slammed suggestions that his recent feud with Teargas member Ntukza was motivated by hate or drugs.

Scoop shocked Channel O viewers last month when he seemed to take jabs at Ntukza live on-air during an interview‚ suggesting that the veteran musician should go back to studio and work harder on his music.

Ntukza quickly responded after the interview aired‚ suggesting that Scoop may have been sent by someone and may have been acting irrationally because of a substance abuse.

But speaking to SlikouronLife this week‚ Scoop gave his side of the feud‚ saying he respects Ntukza.

“I respect that man. What he’s done and what he’s achieved‚” he said.

He revealed that he messaged Ntukza‚ after the rapper ranted on Twitter about his split from Cashtime‚ to offer him a platform but when Ntukza came onto Channel O he took on a different stance to the rant he he’d taken during his Twitter rant.

He also denied earlier suggestions by Ntukza that his outburst against the rapper may have been fueled by a cocaine addiction.

“There’s been suspicion of me using substances for a long time. I’ll tell you for the record: I smoke weed. I take mushrooms- which is all natural. I don’t do cocaine. Have never. So‚ you can leave that mess alone‚” he said.

But Scoop is not about to apologise for his comments on the show‚ saying that he still believes that Ntukza needs to put more effort into his music.

“I love that man. I’m not saying he’s out. I’m not saying that he can’t do much. I’m not saying he’s whack. I’m saying that if he wants to come back into this game and put up work for artists to say ‘I need to work harder’‚ let it be evident in the work of the OG.”
