Kwaito star and TV presenter Zola 7 – real name Bonginkosi Dlamini — claims he has never left the music industry‚ following the release of Zakwe’s latest single Yesterday‚ in which he is featured.

Media reports claim he has been selling his latest album‚ Utatakho‚ from his home in Melville‚ Johannesburg and via post‚ after opting to self-commission his music as opposed to getting a distribution deal.

Speaking to TMG Entertainment‚ Zola explained that he has always been recording new music‚ performing‚ and being featured on several songs‚ despite reports last year that he was down and out before making a TV comeback.

The TV personality‚ who has worked with Zakwe previously‚ revealed that he’s on a mission to revive the spirit of ‘’good old collaborations’’. “I was very excited to feature on Zakwe’s song‚ Yesterday‚ alongside Zuluboy. We’ve created real hip-hop. It’s authentic.”

After taking some time away from the spotlight‚ Zola returned to the scene last year when he starred on Vuzu Amp’s Ayeye as well as Utatakho on Mzansi Magic.

At the moment‚ the award-winning artist says that he’s working on his upcoming album set to be released in June‚ saying that it is “almost ready.”
