Gagasi FM presenter Zukiswa "Zookey" Vutela has been fired following the much-publicised baby drama between her and Uzalo star Kay Sibiya.

The KwaZulu-Natal commercial radio station announced yesterday that Vutela's contract had been terminated with immediate effect.

Vutela hosted the 9am to noon slot on weekdays.

Her departure follows a bitter fight with Sibiya regarding the paternity tests of her 10-month-old baby which earned her tabloid headlines and set social media on fire.

Reports claimed that SMSes between Sibiya and Vutela had allegedly suggested that she abort the baby, but she didn't.

Sibiya subsequently made a U-turn and demanded a paternity test. Their fight involved pastors and Sibiya's family.

Gagasi FM's marketing manager Khulekani Shandu took the decision to fire Vutela after consultations with her and her legal team.

"Zookey's departure has opened the door for an exciting up-and-coming talent to shine," Shandu said.
