iFani may not be sure where genuine love comes from in the entertainment industry these days.

He was yesterday announced as one of the celebrities to feature on Reality Check, a show on e.tv on which celebrities swap the limelight for for laborious community work in the name of charity.

After the much publicised feat of selling gold on the day of the release of his new album, I Believes In Me: 2nd Quadrant on April 29, the rapper was involved in war of words with fellow rapper AKA who didn't see the number of CD sales as legitimate.

"I'm cool with AKA and I respect that he was honest and vocal about what he feels," says iFani who adds that he gets annoyed when people don't have the backbone to say what they truly feel.

iFani says he is now cautious about "fake love". He says after his album release, presenter Siyabonga "Scoop" Ngwekazi congratulated him in a TV interview.

But when AKA came hard on iFani, Ngwekazi supported AKA.

"If I was an artist in the hip-hop fraternity I would not let him [iFani] slide. I'm just a journalist," Ngwekazi tweeted. "The problem is that lying discredits the genre and the hard-working musicians who strive to get gold. I blame his [iFani's] label and him."

This has left iFani perplexed. "I don't know who to believe anymore. But I'm more focused on making people realise that dreams are possible."

Another rapper, Cassper Nyovest, went on Twitter last week saying: "Protect yourself by doing things by the book. Trust me!!! There's no other way cause they will come for you. The short cut is the worst route."

iFani said he was disappointed by Nyovest as he initially saw him more as a friend than he did AKA. "He was just being subliminal . but I know what he was talking about," said iFani. Cassper later went on Twitter to say he wasn't hitting out at the musician.

iFani will be on Reality Check, with Kelly Khumalo and Chomee.
