South African acts AKA and The Soil have been nominated for the 2015 BET Awards.
Nominated under the “Best International Act: Africa” category, the Mzansi acts will compete against Congolese artist Fally Ipupa, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, Kenyan afro-group Sauti Sol, Ghanaian reggae musician Stonebwoy, Nigerian R&B diva Yemi Alade and Nigerian hitmaker Wizkid.
The Awards will take place on Sunday, June 28, in Los Angeles.
Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown lead the pact with six nominations, apiece, with Beyonce right behind them with four nods.
Other South African artists to be nominated for the same award in the past years include Mafikizolo, Toya Delazy, Lira and Donald.
