Top commentator joins radio show

SUPERSPORT commentator Brian Mathe, pictured, is spreading his wings into the radio broadcasting industry.

Mathe, a former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates player, has joined commercial radio station North West FM. He will co-host afternoon drive show View Point Sport with Thabo Moyo.

Mathe had a short stint with Metro FM years ago..

View Point Sport features local and international soccer, as well as a bit of golf and cricket.

Mathe said the show would also feature those who have kept sport alive in their communities despite a lack of resources.

North West station manager David Mabusela said: "Football and gospel music have a passionate, involved and strong following. So, as a passionate and community-involved commercial station, we are not only the home of best music we are equally the home of passionate sports fans."

Mathe said he would find it easy to balance television and radio.

He works for North West FM three days a week, and when he is commentating for SuperSport he also does updates for the radio show.

"I call it the best of both worlds. Technology has made it easy for me to be in both shows."

The Rustenburg-based station has also recruited Motsweding FM's legendary presenter, Modisane Modise.
