Thando Thabethe on her way to the top

Just over a year ago Thando Thabethe become the ambassadress as the face of Nivea.

The talented actress and radio personality has now landed a plum role by joining the cast of Generations: The Legacy and her star keeps on rising.

The 24-year-old Thabethe underwent a transformation by cutting her hair for the role where she is cast as Nolwazi, a well educated woman who is fascinated by people, different from her background. “I literally cried but that is how invested I am in depicting Nolwazi”

Thabethe who sports a bubbly personality says she is thrilled to join the show. “I'm really excited to be joining the biggest soapie in the country, especially as it starts its new journey as Generations: The Legacy,” says the talented actress.

“I am privileged to star alongside the talented Manaka Ranaka and I'm so thrilled with the reception both the cast and crew have given me so far. I am an actress through and through and cannot wait to show South Africa what I'm capable of” she enthused.

Thabethe's career has been on the rise since she started out as a radio DJ on campus station UJFM back in 2008. She later joined popular youth station YFM which catapulted her into stardom.

Last year, after a three-year run, Thabethe left YFM and joined 5FM. She co-hosts The Roger Goode Show every weekday from 4-7pm and occupies her own slot on Sundays from 10-2pm.

Other than radio, the star has appeared on shows such as Mzansi Love: Kasi Style, Intersexions, My Perfect Family, Kowethu and will now add Generations: The Legacy to that already impressive list..

She hosted e.tv’s successful music show Club 808 back in 2013 and currently hosts SABC 1’s popular 1’s & 2’s, a fast-paced talent show in search of SA’s next big DJ and music producer, alongside DJ Sphectacula and DJ Naves.
