We look back at songs that smashed the local charts during 2014 and songs that have recently entered the music scene which you are likely to be dancing to at the New Year's Eve parties.

1. DJ Merlon ft Mondli - Koze Kuse: One of the latest songs that have hit the music industry and quite a hit for December.  This song was produced by DJ Merlon from Durban. This has been smashing the charts on Metro FM, YFM and Ukhozi FM, sitting on the top 10 rankings.

2. Rabs Vhafuwi- Count Your Blessings: This house tune comes with an element of jazz and is one of the current biggest songs in the club which is now dominating the YFM music chart.

3. Ricky Rick - Boss Zonke: Newcomer Ricky Rick's song is a hit in Mzansi and mostly played on radio. Expect to hear alot of it at the New Year's Gigs.

4. Micasa - Your Body: This song is a new song from the awesome trio. So far it has been received well, making it to the top of the charts and will blow up even bigger in 2015.

5. UdU-Nyoso: Nyoso: Although it kid of old now, but it sure made a mark in 2014 as one of the biggest songs of the year. This song even made it to Google's Top Trends of the Year and have trended on Twitter several times.

6. K.O - CaraCara: One of the biggest songs to generate more than a million views on YouTube.

7. AKA- All Eyes On Me : This hip hop track sampling Brenda Fassie’s hit song 'My Friend You’re Dangerous' is a popular hip hop song also scooping major awards.

8. Ralfgum- The Pap: Ralf Gum did it again with another hit for summer. This track is loved by DJs which is played at most gigs. This is also huge on radio.

9. The Soil - Susan: A capella music group, The Soil did a great track Susan ft Khuli Chana this year. This song blew up and is popularly demanded and played on most radio stations.

10. DJ Fisherman ft Naakmusic - Call Out: One of the biggest sing along songs  of the year.
